Most can relate

Great book! I think most kids and parents can relate to this one. Sometimes the only thing a kid hears is NO, and needs to be reminded of a parents love (and sometimes parents need to remember to take a deep breath!). Great teaching tool for all. In response to a previous review, to criticize the story/content and question the Caldecott Award is comparing apples to oranges. The Caldecott Award is presented to Illustrators, not writers. If you take the time to research the eligibility requirements and selection process for Caldecott recipients, this book fits the bill. The illustrations are vibrant and rough, and in the style of a small child. Very expressive! I recommend this book!

Yes, I would recommend this product.

Not a fan

My 3 yo son hates this book, although some of the other kids at his preschool do like it. The unseen parent yells "No" at David for everything he does, but never talks to him, tries to redirect, offers an alternative he can play with, or engages with him in any way. Then at the end the parent says "I love you". Boy causes mischief and gets yelled at all day, parent still loves him. I don't understand how it won a Caldecott award.
