We love these units because we can change out the stations/activities but yet lock up when we do not want the kiddos in the unit. We also share the rooms with classes at church so this helps keep items safely tucked away.

I am a grandmother of 2 little ones who come to my house every Saturday and stay till Sunday afternoon. As a result, my living room has been transformed into a 'toys-everywhere' place. I have purchased a few tables and chairs but they are cluttered with the different puzzles, drawing mechanisms, etc. Now, everything is stored neatly inside the folding Unit. My living room is way more organized now.

I wish this was available in a tightly closing design (see CONS below), as well as with a Birch plywood option. (My district basically requires using Lakeshore as our vendor, and this was the only mobile fold and lock cabinet they sell) This unit DOES NOT come fully assembled; you will need to install casters and hinge. It likely will take two people to remove packing and tipping each side on end to install casters. This will be a mobile unit that is rolled in and out to accommodate shared EC and school-age childcare space. Durability and easy rolling will be critical. CONS: (reason for low 3-star rating) * UNIT DESIGN DOES NOT DETER UNINVITED VISITORS, i.e., mice, spiders, etc. The 2 halves are not flush when the unit is in the closed position--1/8 inch open along sides, 3/4 inch (!!!) at top and bottom. Not looking forward to finding evidence of mice (droppings/urine) in my toddler shelf after weekends or school breaks during intermittent critter problems. PROS: * The lockable casters appear to be super heavy-duty and easy to swivel/roll. (The locking mechanism on casters does seem to be a bit stiff to lock and unlock.) * Heavy duty latch should stay closed while moving * Shelves are deep enough to fit most bins. * The backing on the unit is solid, not pegboard, and is screwed into shelving in multiple places, making it extra sturdy. * Easy to wipe clean, remove adhesive from toy organization labels if needed. ***IMPORTANT! : Make sure the CASTERS ARE FULLY TIGHTENED using both wrenches provided with the installation kit, or like me, you will find that the pre-drilled holes for installing the hinges don't line up, and you will have to tip units on end again to re-tighten them. Poorly aligned pre-drilling WAS NOT the problem, as I initially thought it was. Glad I checked before complaining!!!

We have loved this storage unit! It can sit in the middle of the room, with no fear of it tipping over on children. Very well built and pre assembled. The only thing we had to do was attach the hinges together. Defiantly worth it!
