I initially thought these were plastic cookie cutters. I was disappointed upon arrival because they werent what I expected. I then initiated a return. I didnt hear anything from lakeshore so I broke and tried these with my 4 yr old. he had a lot of fun and so did I. so many things you can do, like outlining the letters after stamping, making words, etc; if you have mouthy children, skip this. they can bite the foam right up. I have to be careful to keep these away from my 1.5 yr old because he can and will destroy these. but I do think these are fun and offer educational benefits. for $30 it is a steep price for foam but would probably cost a bit to ship back for a return. these are decent. just remember to clean the letters after each use to prevent buildup. I felt like I couldn't ethically return once i reread the description which it clearly states what its made of LOL
