This gets the conversation going but I do think they need to revise the questions and make them easier for a 5 and 8 year old

Great Conversation Starters

October 30, 2022 - By Christina Mfrom Pasco, WA

I initially ordered this to help my son, who has cognitive and speech delays. However, it has been extremely beneficial for all three of my kids! We have been drawing a question (or 2 or 5) at mealtimes and taking turns answering. It has been fantastic for reinforcing active listening. It would be great if additional card sets with new questions are offered in the future.

Yes, I would recommend this product.

highly recommend

March 29, 2021 - By A G

with a background in special education AND mental health/emotional regulation, these cards are amazing prompts! Just seeing students who can read, slow down enough to read the questions and ponder the answers is significant. As the questions are read, I give plenty of time for processing, a single answer may not arrive for days or weeks but the wheels start turning, while promoting literacy!

Yes, I would recommend this product.

Language meets Story Time.

November 11, 2020 - By Lori from Cheyenne Wy

My grandsons ages 5 and 9 have been raised to enjoy old fashion board and card games. The questions led to a evening of laughter and story telling by all. We learned interesting things about each other we would of never known if not for this Conversation Starter.

Yes, I would recommend this product.

Conversation Training

March 05, 2017 - By SPEDTVIfrom Washington State

It might be good to include about 5 blank cards for educators to write topics especially relevant for their students. For instance, I would include issues around my students who have difficulties starting conversations due to their blindness and difficulties explaining to people the sorts of support they need and don't need. I appreciate the motivating aspect of the activity for my Kingergarten student and first grade student. They are eager to select a discussion topic (one of two cards pulled out) and are learning improved conversational methods.

Yes, I would recommend this product.
