My son is in Pre-K and is often reluctant to learn. He loves trains though and was so excited to do this activity. It keeps him engaged while reinforcing letter sounds.
My Kinders love using these beginning sound trains as a station when we do literacy stations. They also work really well for small group instruction too!
Love this activity. We use it as a morning activity as students move from one activity to the next. We put out four or five trains and pass out the cards to be filled in. Quick and easy assessment, and time for a little one on one teaching.
My students used this as a center activity! It was really helpful and engaging. The students were able to figure it out as a small group, and it was something they wanted to do often.
These are excellent for differentiating during a RTI group or as a center.
My students love playing this game and want to keep playing. I wish this included all beginning sound trains so that kids could practice all of the letter sounds.

My kindergarten students loved using these materials in a station to practice their initial sounds. They really helped students use their sound knowledge to sort the pictures on to the correct train.
Excellent learning tool, even at home. My three-year old loves this. I make the train make the sound of the letter once we fill all the spaces and it chugs away (so the h train goes huh, huh, huh, huh , huh, huh, huh and the b says buh buh buh in the rhythm of a chugging train.

It doesn't have the vowels? Why doesn't it have the vowels? That doesn't make any sense to me. Wish I looked closer before I bought it. I like the toy just wish it had all 26 letters.

I really like this train because it helps children with learning their alphabet while learning beginning letters and sounds all while having fun.
