they are noisy like other say, but some of the best products are! my students love them!
strong blocks
I thought my kids would play with these more thab they do. when they do play they are well made and have held up in a preschool class.
Missing letters
I bought 2 sets so I can have enough for a station of 6-8 kids. Once opened the pack I realized that it’s missing letters. They need to realize as teachers we try to make it fair and have all students the same number of letter tiles. If we have missing letters there needs to be a way for us to get the missing letters if we want. Also maybe have extra letters that we can buy more of if the kids lose them. Aside from that, these tiles are noisy so it’s best to do them as carpet station. For over $80 not including tax and shipping I spent to have half a station is not worth it.

Great idea, not enough tiles for all
Loved this idea but should have read the reviews. There are not enough letters for each of the blocks. For example, there are only two 'h' blocks. So only two students can work on 'sh', 'ch', 'th' at a time, or do partner work. Bummed you can't buy extra letters either. If you're okay doing two students at a time or partners, or don't need all of the letters, these are a great high engagement activity. Just limiting in how they can be used.

Hands on Learning
Very disappointed. Why, would you not include a whole alphabet for each platform. I went to use this with a small group and wasted a ton of time determining that I can only use with pairs instead of each student getting their own set. I even bought two sets. I am very disappointed. I would return them if we had not already opened the both sets. Will think twice about buying Lakeshore items in the future. Additionally you cannot buy extra blocks to fill in what is missing.

Perfect for kindergarten
I got these for my kindergartener and he uses them to practice sight words, letter sounds, differentiating vowels from consonants, and imaginary play. I love that it exposes him to letters and words AND is still super fun and hands on. Helps with his fine motor skills too, which helps with handwriting. Wins all around :)

Good for hands on learning
I really like this Product and so do my students. My only concern is that there arent enough blocks for more than 2 kids to be building the same word which makes it hard to use in small groups and stations

Love this for group and independent work with words. This is the fourth set that I have purchased
Great tool, but...
My K students love working with the word building blocks, as do I. However, I wish I could purchase individual letters for those that are lost or need more of.

Building Words
The students love them!
Buy more than one!
As a previous reviewer noted-these are not a quiet tool. My intervention students use them on a carpet and after the initial dump and spread, the noise is less of an issue and the kids love them. I bough two sets, storing consonants in one tub and vowels/building trays in the other. I set the the building trays with a set of vowels and that is how we store them. This is a very flexible learning tool that I have used across grades k-2.
