I have this kit, but only used the idioms set with my gifted 2nd graders. This is a great way to introduce idioms. The pictures that accompany each phrase is funny and illustrates the concept well for little ones.

I used these for my English language learners and created a journal for them using the cards. Every week I gave them 5 new cards in each subject: homophones, multiple meaning, and idioms and they had to write the meanings, draw pictures and a little story for each one. Every week they couldn't wait until the next cards were introduced. We would review them on my doc camera and then I would place them on picture frame stands in a center. Then we would challenge ourselves to use them in daily conversation, like "that test was a piece of cake!" I highly recommend these cards as they are fun, colorful and just so easy to use and represent.
