these math machines are very durable and my children love them. we keep them in the car as they sit perfectly on thier laps.

2 first graders enjoy testing themselves. And also like having an adult choose the equation for them to answer.

I remembered these from when I was in elementary school in the 90’s, so I was excited when my 7 year old wanted to purchase one for herself the last time we stopped into the store! It seems well built to last a while.

Heavy but made very well

Loved the idea of this but in reality my kids just memorized the answers based on the placement, not the answers to the math questions. They also spend more time just popping them up and down than using it as the tool its intended for. So, if you have young preschool aged kids, I think these are great as a bordum buster and they may start recognizing numbers. For 2nd grade, you need to be able to mix up the math problems

I bought the adding machine for my 3-year old nephew. He LOVES math and numbers and mastered this in a week. It is durable and has withstood much toying and abuse, yet it has not broken at all. He's 4 now, so I purchased the Subtraction Machine. I highly recommend this machine.

The Subtraction Machine is well built and should stand up to the abuses of a first grader. It provides valuable (and fun) review to soldify subtraction facts and build speedy recall.
