Our preschoolers are a little young to understand "greater" and "less than", but they love this set and are now introduced to symbols they will encounter in the next few years.

I use this center in my SDC class in a center with adult support. This is a great way for my first grade students to access their math standard of comparing numbers. My second grade students love this center too, and it's a great way to review. There are lots of pieces, so I use ziplocs to hold the pieces separately for easy use.
